VOWS

The vows you say on your wedding day are your personal promise of commitment and love to your new spouse. You can use these vows, vows from another source or write your own. The important thing is that you are true to your vows, that you convey your love to your spouse and respect the dignity of the day. 

TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC VOW I


I, ___________ take you _________, for my husband/wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.


TRADITIONAL CATHOLIC VOW II


I, ________ take you _______, to be my husband/wife, I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.


VOWS FOR MARRIAGE LATER IN LIFE I


I offer you not the "summer of my life" but the autumn, brisk and vibrant. I promise to be a companion worthy of your precious friendship. I pledge you compassion in good times and bad, encouragement in sickness and in health. It is my intention that our lives together include our large circle of friends and loving families. We'll cherish the memories of our individual pasts and create our new life as we go now together.


VOWS FOR MARRIAGE LATER IN LIFE II


In the presence of God, our children and grandchildren, I take you __________, to be my wedded husband/wife. But today is the first day of the rest of our lives and we will build new memories together. There will be no more me, no more you; but only us from this moment on. I promise to try, with God's help, to be the best husband/wife I can be, so that our memories will be treasures for all the years to come.
